CBS Sports Network has announced its broadcast team for the 2014 Army football season and it features newcomers Kevin O’Connell and Courtney Fallon.
O’Connell makes the move from ESPN and is the new color commentator with Ben Holden in the booth, while Fallon will be part of the team as the sideline reporter.
CBS Sports Network is broadcasting five of the six home games this season and has added the Nov. 8 game against UConn at Yankee Stadium to its schedule. The only home contest not on CBS Sports Network is against Air Force on Nov. 1. It is going to be live on CBS at 11:30 a.m. from Michie Stadium.
Ben Holden returns for his third season with CBS Sports Network as the play-by-play announcer for the Black Knights. In addition to his football duties, Holden can be seen on the network announcing hockey and basketball contests.
O’Connell enters the booth for CBS after spending time at ESPN. He played college football at San Diego State, followed by stints with five different teams in the National Football League. He was a four-year team captain for the Aztecs and holds multiple quarterback records in both rushing and passing. He ran for over 1,300 yards in his career for first all time and ended up third on the list in passing yardage with 7,689. O’Connell was picked in the third round of the 2008 NFL Draft by the New England Patriots. He went on to play for the Detroit Lions, Miami Dolphins, San Diego Chargers and two stints with the New York Jets.
Fallon joins the team from WTVJ-NBC in South Florida, where she anchored a Sunday night weekly sports show and did field reporting duties. She could be seen on the sidelines of most Miami sporting events and was a big part of the NBC6 coverage of the Sochi Winter Olympics last February with updates every morning. The New England native spent time with WLNE-TV in Southern New England and WHDH-TV in Boston and was responsible for writing, producing and shooting sports news materials for both stations.
