The Cleveland Browns have quickly transitioned from one of the NFL’s least discussed teams to boasting one of the league’s most exciting rosters.
SiriusXM will look to capitalize on the Browns intrigue with a weekly one hour show called Dawg Pound Radio, mixing the franchise’s history with its highly anticipated present and future. Former Browns quarterback and fan-favorite, Bernie Kosar will join the team’s longtime radio voice Jim Donovan as hosts of the weekly show. Dawg Pound Radio will debut September 4th, airing every Wednesday from 7 – 8pm ET on the SiriusXM NFL Radio channel.
“My association with the Cleveland Browns started long before I wore that uniform. I’ve watched this team since I was a kid growing up Northeast Ohio,” Kosar said in the press release. “I’m so proud to have been a part of this franchise’s great history and I’m excited about its future. Baker Mayfield, Odell Beckham Jr., Jarvis Landry, Nick Chubb, Myles Garrett… This is an incredibly exciting group of young Cleveland Browns players. I’m excited for the opportunity to team up with Jim, tell stories about my time with the Browns, talk with some of the team’s all-time greats, and cover everything happening with the current team.”
Kosar quarterbacked the Browns from 1985 – 1993, leading the franchise to three AFC Championship games. His co-host on the new SiriusXM show, Jim Donovan has been the play-by-play voice of the Cleveland Browns Radio Network since 1999.
“To be sure, the Browns are one of the NFL’s most exciting and talked about teams heading into this season. They also have one of the richest histories in professional football and a dedicated fan base that has seen greatness and heartbreak through the years,” added Steve Cohen, SiriusXM’s SVP of Sports Programming. “This show will focus on both the Browns’ great past and its promising future, and will be something that anyone who loves football will enjoy. To have it hosted by Bernie Kosar, one of the franchise’s iconic players, and Jim Donovan, the voice of the Browns for two decades, is really special and means listeners are getting a true insider’s perspective week to week.”
Subscribers can listen to Dawg Pound Radio via SiriusXM NFL Radio channel 88 on the SiriusXM app, SiriusXM.com and their SiriusXM radios.
