October 15th marks the 50 year anniversary for MSG Networks which debuted in 1969 as the first ever regional sports network in the country. The longtime home of the Knicks and Rangers will celebrate their 50 year history with classic and new original content throughout the season.
Beginning Thursday, October 17th, MSG will show legendary Knicks and Rangers games, one from each decade since the Network has been on-air. Digital series MSG’s Untold Stories, will share unique moments that help define the network. Among other content will be short-form videos connecting sports with food, music, fashion, sneakers and other cultural aspects.

MSG Networks changed sports television when they launched with a game between the New York Rangers and Minnesota North Stars. Since MSG’s debut, the network has continued to be innovative throughout its half-century history.
1969 – First regional sports network in the country
1998 – First regular provider of HDTV sports coverage
2009 – First network to utilize virtual signage for hockey
2010 – First network to offer a live, 3D sports telecast to the home
2017 – First network to offer a live fantasy infused broadcast of a live game on 11/13/17, in partnership with DraftKings
2018 – First RSN to feature interactive gaming and live stats on its MSG GO streaming service
All anniversary content will also be available on MSG GO, MSG Networks’ live streaming and video on demand platform for smartphones, tablets and computers.
