With fans starved for live sports, and unsure how long the indefinite layoffs will be, many regional networks are offering the next best thing – replays. With a large vault of games to dive into, various RSN’s have scheduled replays to help fans get their fix.
In New York, MSG Networks is planning to air NBA and NHL replays from the 2019-20 season, as well as showing classics dating back to the ‘80s. For the remainder of this week, MSG is focused on the Rangers, Islanders and Devils. Next week, the network will show Knicks games from this season.
TSN and Sportsnet announced fans will be able to relive the Toronto Raptors journey to their first NBA title in franchise history. After gearing up for another playoff run until Covid-19 suspended the NBA season indefinitely, TSN and Sportsnet will help fill the void of live sports by airing every Raptors game from last year’s postseason.
Beginning Friday March 20, Sportsnet will show the Raptors first matchup of the playoffs against the Magic, subsequently airing a different game each night through Sunday April 5, when their Title winning game against the Golden State Warriors will rebroadcast. The full broadcast schedule can be seen here.
In Florida, FOX Sports RSN’s are airing game replays from all their local pro teams. FOX Sports Florida will broadcast 2019-20 victories from the Panthers and Orlando Magic, alternating nights with both teams. FOX Sports Sun will similarly broadcast the Tampa Bay Lightning and Miami Heat on a rotating schedule. FOX Sports Florida will also carry Miami Marlins games from 2019 and FOX Sports Sun will do the same with the Tampa Bay Rays.
