The possible fight between UFC president Dana White and ESPN host Dan Le Batard got some added buzz over the weekend during UFC 250 in Las Vegas.
On the ESPN broadcast with host Michael Eaves and an appearance by Halle Berry, White offered up $250,000 to any charity that the two of them choose in order for the fight to occur:
“Dan Le Batard is a big mouth, he’s all talk and no action and I can promise you if he is remotely serious, it ends really bad for him,” said White about the chances of a fight.
As our own Brandon Contes highlighted last week, Le Batard did bring up on The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz that he was going to get in shape for a possible fight.
Well, as Le Batard’s producer of his show, Roy Bellamy, posted on Twitter over the weekend, it is tough to turn down a fight once Halle Berry is present:
Now, Le Batard might get some help from a UFC fighter if he is going to fight White. On Saturday night’s SportsCenter, Jorge Masvidal told Kenny Mayne that he is going to help train Le Batard if the fight occurs:
“I’m actually going to be training Dan Le Batard if Dana signs anything,” said Masvidal. “If you are serious, I’m serious. He kind of knows I am very serious about my craft and about teaching. I will teach anybody, but you have to be ready to absorb this knowledge. Me and Dan are going to be in this laboratory soon if this fight gets set.”
It is unknown whether or not the fight is going to actually happen, but the pressure just got kicked up a whole other level by White after giving the amount of money that would go to charity. Adding Masvidal into the mix with his current contract issues with the UFC brings another interesting dynamic to the mix that only adds to the fun of this potential fight.
