Cumulus Media’s 104.5 The Zone in Nashville has beefed up its podcast offerings with a new show. 3 The Pro Way debuted this week with a trio of former athletes handling host duties.
Kevin Dyson, Joey Kent, and Todd Campbell have teamed up to give advice and tips on transitioning to new careers like they had to once their football tenures were over. The first episode is live now, featuring an in-depth interview with former-Titans star running back Eddie George.
“When Kevin, Joey, and Todd first shared their ‘3 The Pro Way’ podcast idea, I knew the 104.5 The Zone Podcast Network would be the perfect partner,” The Zone program director Paul Mason said in a press release. “I look forward to hearing a weekly conversation with different athletes and professionals on their career transitions. I am also excited to work with Todd, Joey, and Kevin in growing ‘3 The Pro Way’ within the 104.5 The Zone Podcast Network.”
Dyson has been a teacher, coach, athletic director, assistant principal since retiring from the NFL and currently serves as an executive principal of a high school. He is also a radio personality, motivational speaker, and presenter.
“Life is a journey filled with decisions and consequences that create life lessons for us to grow from,” Dyson said. “It is these life experiences that shape and mold us all; more specifically, our guests, who will share the stories of their individual journeys that led to their current success.”
Kent suited up for the Titans during Super Bowl XXXIV. He has worked in the insurance industry, general sales and is currently in pharmaceutical sales as a Territory Area Manager.
“I’m excited about this opportunity to have in-depth conversations with athletes and professionals from the business realm,” Kent said. “These conversations will focus on career transitions, but will also give the listener a peek behind the curtain of transformative experiences that have shaped their lives.”
Last but not least in the trio is Campbell, who has been a teacher, coach, athletic director, assistant principal, executive principal, and college professor. He is currently the CEO of a non-profit that helps students and families living in at-risk neighborhoods.
“I love being able to listen to and share like experiences with those who have traveled a similar path to their perfect opportunity,” Campbell said about the experience.
