6 Events You Should Be Selling Packages For Right Now!

“Waiting until mid-January to hit the ground running is a mistake when it’s what you should be doing right now!”

2021 has come to a close and everyone is just getting back from vacation easing back into the office. That doesn’t mean you have to be the AE that’s complacent coming off of Christmas and New Years vacation. Waiting until mid-January to hit the ground running is a mistake when it’s what you should be doing right now!

First quarter can traditionally be slow for some in the media business, but that’s certainly NOT true in the world of Sports and Sports Marketing.

Sports radio stations have a HUGE advantage over the competition in Q1, so make sure you’re taking advantage of it. Beat your fellow sellers in the marketplace to the punch and take those advertising dollars off the table now. This is your time to take advantage of a unique selling opportunity and get a great jump start on your 2022 goals. Making your Q1 goal can set you up for an incredibly successful 2022.

There are 6 events that you should be customizing and selling packages for clients right now:

#1 – Super Bowl LVI – February 13th

#2 – 2022 NASCAR CUP SERIES Start/Daytona 500 – February 20th

#3 – 2022 Winter Games – February 4th – 20th

#4 – 2022 MARCH MADNESS – March 13th – April 4th

#5 – 2022 MASTERS CHAMPIONSHIP – April 10th – 14th

#6 – 2022 NFL DRAFT – April 28th – 30th

The Super Bowl/NFL Playoffs are a 4-6 week full blown station promotion, with wall to wall coverage of the most talked about playoffs in all of sports. Depending on your market, NASCAR and the Daytona 500 offer a minimum of 2-3 weeks of coverage too. The Olympics, are well, THE OLYMPICS! What client wouldn’t love to have their brand attached to such an amazing event that only happens every four years?

If that’s not enough for you, March Madness is another 4-6 week promotional opportunity which offers endless features and bracket challenges. That’s then followed by the Masters, the start of the Majors in Golf for the PGA, which opens the door to selling coverage in all 4 Majors.

Last but certainly not least, nothing beats the wall to wall coverage and build up to the NFL Draft. Now with rounds 1-3 in prime time on Thursday and Friday nights, the Draft just keeps getting more and more coverage every year. Clients love football, and there’s no bigger event to connect them to in the NFL offseason than this one.

Starting the year off strong is important to reaching your goals, so don’t look back later and say ‘wow did I miss out on selling my clients into great content and amazing events. Get a jump start on your competition with content they can’t offer and build out a few promotions and features that will surely make your client(s) stand out from the competition in Q1!
